• A deposit of 20% must be received in order for your reservation to be confirmed and reserved
• Failure to pay a deposit within 24hrs may mean that the bikes, shuttle or equipment may become unavailable.
• Cancellation 24 hours or less before the day of your reservation will receive no refund
• Cancellations 24 hours or more shall receive an 80% refund unless a refund is requested within 12 hours of your reservation
• Cancellation after commencement of reservation or ‘no shows’ will receive no refund.
• Wild Rides Fiordland Ltd reserves the right to resell reservations if I have not shown within an hour of my reservation commencing and have contacted a Wild Rides staff member and made appropriate arrangements.
• I agree to allow Wild Rides to securely hold my credit card details as security on the equipment hired. No money will be held on the card and your card will not be charged unless equipment is damaged, stolen, not returned or needs work due to negligence or misuse. Card details are held by an authorized secure third party, Payment Express.

Equipment

• I agree that I am solely and absolutely responsible for the care and safe keeping of all bikes, equipment and accessories hired from Wild Rides Fiordland Ltd for the duration of this agreement.
• If the bikes, equipment or accessories are lost or damaged, (including without limitation; loss or damage arising from fire, accident, theft, collision, misuse and normal maintenance as you would carry out on your own bike), I agree to compensate Wild Rides Fiordland for the full cost of repairing such damage or replacing the Equipment, regardless of the cause of such loss or damage, including the costs of enforcing this release.
• I agree to cover either replacement costs or repair costs if I damage, lose, or the bike is stolen while in my possession.

Bike carriers and transportation

• Wild Rides Fiordland LTD rental bikes can only be transported on a bike carrier approved by a Wild Rides staff member.

Risks, safety and law

• I accept cycling and associated activities have inherent risks, and can be dangerous.
• I understand that these risks include (but not limited to) illness, navigational difficulties, rough riding conditions, poor weather, and collisions, all of which may occur in isolated areas.
• I agree and accept all risks, and will not hold Wild Rides Fiordland Ltd or any of their employees responsible or make any claim against them (including claims arising from negligence) for any direct or indirect injury or damage to myself or my property in the course of my use of the bikes, equipment, accessories or my association with Wild Rides Fiordland Ltd or their employees.
• I understand that New Zealand law requires the use of bicycle helmets and I agree to wear a cycle helmet at all times I am using the bicycle.
• I agree to use the equipment in a lawful, safe and proper manner at all times and understand that my behaviour whilst undertaking the use of the hired Equipment affects the risks that I maybe exposed to.

Weather and unexpected events

• Wild Rides Fiordland LTD reserves the right to cancel reservations due to extreme weather conditions or unsafe conditions on the Waiau river.

Physical fitness

• I am physically fit and there is no medical or other reason why I should not participate in the activity of cycling.
• In the event that I require medical treatment I agree that it is my responsibility to seek and obtain any necessary medical treatment, at my own expense and that Wild Rides Fiordland Ltd is in no way responsible for seeking, obtaining or meeting the cost of any medical treatment whatsoever.

Your booking is accepted on the basis that you acknowledge that you have read, understand and accept our terms and conditions.

Terms and Conditions 
Under the Covid 19 Traffic Light System, Bike Fiordland now requires Vaccination
Passports for all client over 12 years old for the following services and products we
offer: (The following are also requirements for our staff)
– Bike tours (any bike ride that requires transport of any kind with one of our vehicles,
or any other transport company offering transport for you and/or your bike)
– Bike rentals. (this includes basic rentals where you may need assistance due to a
breakdown, injury or any other reason we may need to come and assist you while on a
cycle trail).
– Transport. (any client and/or who needs to be transferred, transported or moved in
any way with our vehicles and/or bike trailers) 

We value your safety and the safety of our staff, so please do contact us if you have any
concerns.
If you are travelling to NZ from overseas, we may not accept bookings until you confirm
you have arrived here and have cleared customs and quarantine, unless from parts of
Australia where there is quarantine free travel.

Australian travellers; will come under the same Covid 19 terms and conditions as
New Zealanders while you are in NZ, however, a Covid 19 government restriction that
prevents you from arriving in New Zealand on time for your tour will not come under
our Covid 19 policy. This applies to restrictions imposed by either NZ Government or
Australian Government regulations which have prevented your travel. We recommend
you investigate travel insurance options.

Payment Terms and Changes to Itineraries

We enjoy working with you to develop your ideal itinerary. This stage requires
discussion between Bike Fiordland and yourself, so we can properly understand your
requirements, and for us to liaise with other providers of transport, accommodation and
any additional activities to check availability. Once you are satisfied with arrangements
and approve your itinerary, we will invoice you and request a 20% non-refundable
deposit, to be paid within 7 days of the invoice. Payment of this deposit confirms your
booking. Balance of the full amount will be due by 30 days ahead of your tour.

Any changes to confirmed bookings will incur a $50 alteration fee, where alterations 
affect for example date of departure, or changing a client name. Changing any dates or
accommodation options in your tour may incur additional costs from third party
suppliers. However, if the existing arrangement remains unchanged but you request additional
services or increased group number, no alteration fee is charged.
There are no refunds for changes made once your tour has commenced.

Cancellations (general, non-covid-related) 

We highly recommend travel insurance to protect you against cancellation, if you are
unable to proceed with your booking. 
• Cancellation after your booking has been confirmed will receive an 80% refund
of the full amount if cancelled more than 8 weeks prior to your booking
commencing.
• Cancellations within 4 weeks of your booking commencing will receive no refund
for any administration, transfer and bike rental costs. Refunds received from
third party suppliers will be refunded to you.
• Cancellation after commencement of reservation or ‘no shows’ will receive no
refund. Transport leaving from Bike Fiordland HQ will leave no later than
10mins after the scheduled departure time.
• Bike Fiordland reserves the right to resell reservations if you have not (i)shown
within 30mins of any reservation commencing or (ii)contacted a Bike Fiordland
staff member and made appropriate arrangements.

Hazard Management

In any adventure activity, there is an element of risk involved. Risks in undertaking this
activity include:
• Loss of or damage to personal property
• Illness, injury or death as a result of the environment, weather or accident.

The staff and management of Bike Fiordland take all practicable steps to identify,
isolate, minimize and manage potential hazards and risks.
If a Bike Fiordland staff member identifies a factor that adversely affects or puts at risk
the health and safety of any of those on the tour, Bike Fiordland reserves the right to
cancel, delay, change or make any reasonable adjustment required to a tour plan.
Contributing factors include, but are not limited to, weather events, unsuitable/unsafe
conditions, health and fitness of customers, customer’s own equipment.
For your safety and that of others, you must follow our instructions at all times. Adults
accompanying any person under the age of 18 must ensure that the underage person
follows our instructions at all times.
We reserve the right to withdraw any person from the tour who in our opinion is likely
to endanger themselves or others. 

WARNING: Under New Zealand law it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to sue
anyone if you are injured. In addition, New Zealand’s accident compensation scheme
provides only limited assistance to visitors to New Zealand who are injured. 

We strongly recommend that all visitors to New Zealand have full insurance covering any
injury they might suffer, including medical treatment cover, before undertaking this
activity.


EXCLUSIONS: To the extent permitted by law, all our liability for damage to your
property, disruption to travel plans, or mental injury is excluded. This exclusion is
subject to any rights or remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act
1993. Please list on this form any medical conditions or other information we need to know to include you safely in this activity. For example: asthma, allergies, heart conditions, epilepsy or pregnancy. You are entitled to access any information we hold about you or to request its correction at any time.

By confirming a booking with Bike Fiordland (paying a 20% deposit), you make
the following declaration:
Covid19: I have a valid Vaccination Passport. If I am paying on behalf of family,
friends, or other group members, they are all also fully vaccinated and have a valid
Vaccination Passport.
Equipment
• I agree that I am solely and absolutely responsible for the care and safe keeping

understand that my behaviour whilst undertaking the use of the hired
Equipment affects the risks that I may be exposed to.
• I release or indemnify Bike Fiordland and its staff against any liability incurred to
anyone else, resulting from my failure to follow Bike Fiordland instructions or
the failure of any person accompanying me under the age of 18 to follow Bike
Fiordland instructions.
Physical fitness
• I am physically fit and there is no medical or other reason why I should not
participate in the activity of cycling.
• If I require professional medical treatment, I agree that it is my responsibility to
seek and obtain any necessary medical treatment, at my own expense and that

Bike Fiordland is in no way responsible for seeking, obtaining or meeting the
cost of any medical treatment whatsoever.

Payment of your booking deposit will be taken as confirmation from you that you
that you have read, understand and accept our terms and conditions.
