Fiordland Escapes brings a fun, indoor puzzle experience to Te Anau. Their escape rooms let you and your group step into themed challenges tied into Fiordland’s history and legends. In Wild Moose Chase, players investigate the mystery of moose supposedly released into Fiordland in 1910 and try to find whether any remain, sorting through clues and putting together your case. Blast from the Past takes you back to the time of building the Homer Tunnel and Milford Road, where you join a tunnelling team and navigate obstacles in harsh conditions to complete your mission.
The games are suitable for a wide range of visitors: families, friends, corporate groups, or anyone looking for something different if the weather turns soggy. They’re designed to be low impact physically (more focused on puzzles and teamwork than physical exertion), and have suggested minimum age guidance (generally 9+ with an adult for younger players). Each game is about 60 minutes long. Pricing is roughly NZD $45 for adults and $30 for children (under 16). Booking in advance is recommended during peak season.
